Shane Hamilton - Chair

Shane Hamilton is the Chairperson for 2012. Mr Hamilton is the State Manager for Community Housing Limited (CHL), appointed to the position in 2009. He previously worked with the Department of Housing, starting as Executive Director of Aboriginal Housing and Remote Communities in 2006 and then being promoted to Deputy Director of Housing and Works. The role incorporated his previous portfolio as well as other visions in the department. Mr Hamilton headed the team that rolled out the State and Federal government's stimulus packages for housing; while managing the packages, Mr Hamilton worked with organisations involved in development and construction works as well as the affordable housing providers, resulting in his move to CHL.

 

 


Don Tunnicliffe

Don was seconded to the Board in March, 2005, and he was elected for a two-year term at the Annual General Meeting later the same year. Don was elected as Chair of the Board at the 2009 AGM and again at the 2010 AGM. 
Don's background is in retail management and he was a business proprietor for nine years.
His introduction to community housing came when he became a board member of the Swan Emergency Accommodation (SEA) at the same time as running his own business. Don is currently Executive Officer of the SEA.
He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and has a keen interest in computers.

 

Michael King - Secretary

Michael has been a social services practitioner since 1995 after making the life-changing decision to complete a Sociology Degree at Murdoch University.
Having worked in a variety of roles with a focus on community based youth services, Michael accepted the position of Manager for Accommodation and Education Services at Agencies for South West Accommodation located in Bunbury, on July 1, 2008. 
A core responsibility of the role is assisting the organisation to manage an extensive suite of accommodation and allied support programs along with a community housing portfolio. 
Michael is committed to housing affordability and the development of sustainable pathways to independence for the more challenged members of our community.

Mike Brown

Mike joined The Bethanie Group Inc in September 2006, where he is the Project and Business Analyst within Bethanie Projects, the Capital Development division within the Group. In this position, he is responsible for strategic level project management which includes estimating, cost monitoring, scheduling, project and management reporting.   
Mike is also the General Manager of Bethanie Housing Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bethanie Group, solely focused on the development and management of Community Housing.   
Mike joined The Bethanie Group after a 29-year career in the Royal Australian Navy.   Appointments during this time included Project Manager for GPS Navstar, the Fleet Human Resources Manager and Chief Staff Officer Coordination at Maritime Headquarters. He has also commanded two ships which has given him extensive management and leadership experience.
Along with this significant practical experience, Mike has a Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, an Advanced Diploma of Small Ships Operations, a Diploma of Applied Science, a Diploma of Maritime Studies and a Certificate IV in Project Management.

 

Annette Chivers

Annette is the manager of Zonta House Women's Refuge, a position she has held for more than four years. The refuge supports and accommodates up to 50 women.
Annette has worked in a range of areas including such roles as an Associate Director of Development at Silver Chain, managed the Careers and Prospective Students Service at Curtin University, worked as a Marketing Coordinator for a hotel chain and worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for five years with postings to Thailand, Laos and Israel.
Annette has completed a Masters in Human Resource Management which followed on from gaining a Bachelor of Business specialising in the Hospitality and Tourism Management area.
In her spare time, Annette enjoys art and creative writing and is in the process of writing a book which is an ongoing ‘work in progress'!

 

Andrew Hall

Andrew Hall is General Manager, Social Inclusion, Anglicare WA. Andrew has a career spanning more than 25 years of community and youth work including detached youth work, Local Government youth coordination, leading a regional youth homelessness community organisation for 14 years and in 2007 joining AnglicareWA as General Manager, Social Inclusion. 

Andrew's keen interests have been around inclusion and celebration of marginalised people in their communities and country.  He has been involved in numerous leadership positions, including elected member in his local municipality, a Chief Executive Officer and General Manager in the community sector, an independent school councillor, Chair of WA No Interest Loans, Fellow of Leadership WA and also serves as a Justice of the Peace.  He is an avid Blues Brothers fan.

 

 

 

Helen Dullard

Helen Dullard has been involved with Hills Community Support Group (HCSG) since its inception in 1983. HCG is a volunteer organisation that was formed to meet the needs of the local community. In 1987, Helen became the Chief Executive Officer of HCSG which currently runs programs in aged care, disabilities, mental health and youth with funding totalling $20million from Local, State and Federal Governments. HCSG has a strong focus on social services and a firm commitment to local indigenous issues.

Helen has been a Councillor at the Shire of Mundaring for the past 11 years. In 2005, Helen was appointed Deputy President and has been the Shire President since 2007. For the past seven years, Helen has been a member of the Local Government Advisory Board with 12 months as Chair during 2007 and 2008.

Swan/Kalamunda Health Services Community Advisory Council
Disability Access and Equity Advisory Committee
Western Australian Local Government Association (Zone)

In 2003, Helen was awarded the WA Centenary Medal, in 2004 she received the Pearce Australia Day Award and later that same year was honoured to receive the Order of Australia Medal. In 2008, Helen received the John Curtin Medal.

Helen is a UWA Graduate and has a Bachelor of Arts degree.

 

Ali White

 

Ali White

Ali is currently both Chief Manager and Housing Services & General Manager for Southern Cross Housing Ltd (a subsidary company of SCC (WA) Inc). She was appointed to this position after many years in a variety of roles in the community services sector.

Ali is a member of the Retirement Villages Association Regional Board, WA Standards Manager, and is undertaking Post Graduate Studies in Business Administration.

Ali is committed to promoting permanent affordable housing options tailored to each individual's circumstances, beleiving that having a place to call your home should be a right everyone has, and not the priviledge of a lucky few.
