CHCWA Satisfaction Survey

October 12, 2012

As you may be aware, our Annual General Meeting was held yesterday.

We are aware that not all the organisations we represent were able to attend the AGM, nor will we able to visit every organisation across the state in our planned visits to our members. Therefore, to assist us in our work, CHCWA has created a short 10-question ‘tick-box’ survey. (http://www NULL.surveymonkey NULL.com/s/LTV5BXM)

We would be grateful if CHO representatives could spare five minutes of your time to help us improve our services which include training, advice and policy work, and to tell us any other concerns you have.

If you have any questions or comments about this or any other matter, please do not hesitate to get in touch (reception null@null communityhousing NULL.com NULL.au).

Equal pay for not-for-profit employees

July 31, 2012

The new award for social and community sector workers, which will equalise pay between Government and not-for-profit employees, will be discussed at information sessions around WA during August.

The outcome from the Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) from Fair Work Australia and implementation of the modern award (SCHCADS Award is the SACS Modern Award) from July 1, 2012, have produced a changing industrial relations environment for community services.

The Commonwealth Government has provided funding for education and information sessions to help the sector to gain a better understanding of how the changes will impact on the industry, some sessions geared towards employers and some towards employees. The Australian Services Union (ASU) is providing education and information sessions for employees and all community sector workers are encouraged to take advantage of them to understand the changes and their impact.

CHCWA encourages all CHOs to distribute this information to their employees and to look at attending a session.
