Andrew Hannan, CEO at Community Homes Canberra and his staff took time out on 23 June to host officials in DSS, Treasury and PMC on a tour of some of their community housing developments Eclipse, Gungaderra and Bradfield.

We wanted to highlight how the developments are funded and financed, and the difference that past Federal subsidies such as the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) and the Social Housing Initiative have made to the number of long term social and affordable housing built. It was also useful to get across that the homes built under NRAS and owned by community housing organisations are being retained after the incentives have expired.

It was a great opportunity to answer questions and share views about how the anticipated Housing Australia Future Fund could produce great results.
