CHL recently announced the opening of a new Community Centre in West Kempsey in early March. This vital initiative aims to foster community connection and provide essential support to residents representing a significant milestone in the area’s development.

The official opening of the Community Centre was a momentous occasion led by a traditional welcome to country, smoking and water ceremony by Uncle Bob Smith, Uncle Fred and Aunty Connie in the presence of the NSW Housing Minister Hon Rose Jackson MLC, local partners, Aboriginal Elders, community members and CHL staff.

CHL is also pleased to share that construction of its latest social housing project in Wantirna South, Knox is progressing on schedule.

Minister for Housing Harriet Shing, along with local Members of Parliament, Jackson Taylor and Lee Tarlamis joined the CHL team onsite to witness the progress first hand.

Delivered in a partnership, through joint funding contribution by Homes Victoria and CHL, the development includes 117 modern, energy-efficient homes and an onsite office, making it one of the largest projects to be delivered under the Victorian Government’s $5.3 billion Big Housing Build.

The new homes will be made available to eligible individuals and families on the Victorian Housing Register (VHR).

CHL this month also announced the successful delivery of 291 brand new social and affordable homes at New St, Brighton.

Families have now moved into the comfortable, well designed, energy-efficient apartments that have been delivered in partnership with Homes Victoria as part of Victoria’s first Ground Lease Model initiative.

State Minister for Housing Harriet Shing and Ryan Batchelor MP officially opened the redeveloped housing site that includes 151 social homes complemented by 140 affordable rental homes, enhancing the availability of housing options for the wider community.
