Together with the Building Communities consortium, Community Housing (Vic) Ltd (CHVL) is excited to partner with the Victorian Government on its Ground Lease Model 2 project in Melbourne that will deliver 1,370 brand new modern and energy efficient homes across four sites in South Yarra, Prahran, Hampton East, and Port Melbourne.

The project was recently announced by the Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan together with the Minister for Housing Harriet Shing and Commonwealth Minister for Housing Julie Collins.  

As the Victorian subsidiary of Australia’s leading not for profit housing provider Community Housing Ltd (CHL), CHVL will work alongside specialist housing providers Aboriginal Community Housing (Vic) Ltd (ACHVL) and Women’s Property Initiatives (WPI) to deliver end to end housing services to the residents.

The consortium partners include Tetris, Housing Australia ANZSMBC GroupabrdnInvesis, ACHVL, WPI, ICON, 6 Degrees, Hayball, Studio Bright, Glas Uban landscape design and KTA.

Innovative Seniors Housing being considered in Cairns

Community Housing (Qld) Limited (CHQL), a subsidiary company of CHL has formally submitted its development proposal for what is set to become Queensland’s most expansive community housing project, featuring 490 new social and affordable homes at the site of the disused Cairns Twin Drive-in which closed in the year 2000. The proposed development will be aimed towards seniors seeking to downsize and move into supported independent living in a shift to free up under-occupied social homes for larger households.

The Queensland government is considering an application from CHQL and its Victoria-based financier/ partner Tetris Capital through the government’s $2bn Housing Investment Fund.

Social Housing delivered in Logan Reserve, QLD

CHL are delighted to share a new social housing development in Logan Reserve is home to 22 new residents all selected from the Queensland Housing Register.

Completed in May 2023, this project has been delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government. It has easy access to essential services, including healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and public transport as well as nearby parks, recreational facilities, and shopping districts.
