NHFIC have been busy this month. Here are a few highlights:

On 2 May 2023, NHFIC’s CEO Nathan Dal Bon joined The Hon Julie Collins MP, Alicia Payne MP, Yvette Berry MLA and The Hon. John Newton Carey MLA on a site visit of the first Build-to-Rent-to-Buy pilot program in the ACT, for single women on low incomes facing rental stress or at risk of homelessness. Construction is due to commence in December 2023 and will include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom dwellings for long-term rental, with the option to buy the home at the end of a 10-year lease. NHFIC’s Acting Chair Teresa Dyson and Senior Director Origination Manuel Siliprandi joined The Hon Julie Collins MP, Jimmy Sullivan MPMember for Stafford, BlueCHP CEO Charles Northcote and senior executives of BlueCHP at the opening of a new social housing apartment complex in Windsor, Brisbane. On 18 May 2023, NHFIC CEO Nathan Dal Bon joined a panel discussion at the Third Sector: 5th National Housing and Homelessness Forum in the NT. The topic of the panel discussion was delivering affordable housing through innovative solutions to tackle the ongoing housing crisis.

NHFIC have also released a media release ‘New social homes in Far North Coast NSW for people in need’. NSW-based community housing provider (CHP), North Coast Community Housing (NCCH), received $2 million in grant funding from NHFIC and a $1 million grant from DCJ NSW, under the Community Housing Innovation Fund (CHIF), to offer 5 more homes to people in need of social housing in Mullumbimby NSW.
